Beijing Project n.35 Tianji Zhao 赵天汲, Max Gerthel

After the first project, Bike Shed, made with the Australian artist Matthew Greaves, Tianji Zhao began discussing with the Bernard Controls team the idea of a multifunctional common space inside the workshop, next to the production line. She then invited the architect and artist Max Gerthel to develop a final proposal.

Shed is the result of their collaboration and of their exchanges with the management, the employees and the workers. An industrial container would be modified and transformed to host different activities and offer a common space for sharing.

The project, to be funded by the company’s management, was awaiting final approval to be included in the current renovation and development plan.
