Marianne Daquet held a series of conversations with the workers and wanted to keep up a regular sketching routine in the factory. After a while she no longer felt at ease on the production line: she saw herself as a useless disturbance to the work and an intrusive, alien presence in the workers’ lives, and she decided to stop.

Her experience shows how difficult and demanding social practice can be, and so the project is recorded even though it is incomplete, as an important experience and feedback. The department’s projects are above all about building encounters and interactions, and about documenting how they develop, with no obligation to a final product or result.
