Engraving and assemblage on mirrors
Beijing

Mirrors grew out of a typical situation in the department: an interesting project born from found objects and spontaneous improvisation.
Alessandro Rolandi brought some IKEA mirrors to the factory with no precise plan and left them for any member of staff who wanted one. Some decided to carve and build images on them, borrowing techniques from the tools and materials of their daily work. Each mirror became a precious artwork.
The Mirrors series was later exhibited at Cache Space 798 and at the YAM museum.
