Paris-Gonesse Project n.01 Blandine de La Taille

After visiting Alessandro Rolandi at the Beijing factory in 2015, Blandine de La Taille worked closely with him to set up a Social Sensibility R&D Department at Bernard Controls France.

Her first project, Meanwhile, Beyond Machines, continues her own line of research. By animating the workers’ everyday professional gestures while removing the object they handle – tool or machine – she pointed to a shared pride in each person’s skill at their daily tasks.

The collaboration with the workers was built on many moments spent listening and understanding each person’s experience, at work and beyond, and finally turned this creative energy into a choreographic expression born of empathic interaction.
