Beijing Project n.26 Feng Hao 冯昊

After several days of encounters and research in the factory, Feng Hao 冯昊 wired up a whole section of the workshop with cables and microphones, made field recordings during working hours and edited them into a piece of experimental music.

He first performed it as a “hidden concert” during working time. Then he gave each member of staff a custom-made CD, together with a Polaroid selfie of himself with that person.

From the artist’s statement: “This is a hidden concert. All the sound material comes from the staff of Bernard Controls; the artist is only the one who collects and organises it. In a way, there is no artist, only people. As participants, all staff will receive a CD after the concert.”
