Intervention: toilet cubicles turned into an art gallery, installation, photo documentation
Beijing

The artist’s original message to the staff of Bernard Controls:
“The toilets are very special places in a factory: a common space with privacy. When you go in and lock the cubicle, it becomes a completely private universe; you are alone and take a break from all relationships, even for just one minute.
“On the other hand, ideally a gallery should let visitors enjoy a free and private journey through art, so that they can appreciate the images, colours and textures of paintings with an open mind.
“In this project I would like to turn the cubicles of the factory toilets into mini galleries: the exhibition will change every week, on three floors and in six cubicles, three for men and three for women. The Loo Gallery needs: the walls of the cubicles painted white (a white cube); a spotlight in each cubicle if possible; paintings, provided by the artist; printed information labels; tools.”
