Workers and staff members of Bernard Controls China, involved in the activities of SSR&D, animated a whole day workshop at the Goethe Institute Beijing.
"Lost Contact" is a public discourse centered on love, relationships, and belonging. It examines how, in an era defined by high mobility and pervasive technology, interpersonal connections have become both increasingly diverse and inherently fragile. The project focuses on how intimacy is reshaped by gender structures, social class, and technological mediation, and explores how individuals navigate new relational practices amidst the tension between real-world pressures and emotional needs. Through offline events in Beijing and Guangzhou, as well as a dedicated online series, the project gathers narratives and research from diverse backgrounds. It seeks to capture how individuals, through "risky" encounters, struggle, experiment, and reconstruct the possibilities for connection and belonging. This project is realized within the framework of "Silence: Solitude and Freedom," a collaborative initiative by the Goethe-Institut in the East Asia/Central Asia region.
